History

In the early 1990’s a group of people in Northern Alberta began  praying that the Lord would open a children’s camp locally. To that end, in February, the group put "feet" to their prayer through their formation of the “Christian Camp Association."

Later that same year, the beginning of God's answer to their prayer was the donation, by Mr. Len Dueck, of 160 acres of land.  In June of 1994, SCA then Regional Director Martin Harder, Jeff Bouck, a businessman and committed SCA supporter from Southern Ontario, and a group of local people began work on the donated property.

During that summer the dining hall posts and roof were put up by a small handful of people, and beginning with only one week of camp and 18 children, camp opened that first summer.

Since that first week of camp, SCA Eagle’s Nest Ministry Centre, has expanded to eight weeks of summer camp, hosting anywhere from 500 - 600 children from over 20 communities in Northern Alberta and the Northwest Territories, some coming from as far north as Tulita, N.W.T.
