In the summer of 2019 we soft-launched our Internship initiative. As a part of this initiative, we have partnered with Mile One Mission in Newfoundland / Labrador and Fellowship Baptist Church, New Hamburg, ON. Together we are sponsoring three interns financially to work full-time. Their focus on church planting aligned well with our mission and core values.
We want to see Gospel-centred churches raised up from St. John’s to Bonavista; Gander to Clarenville; Salmon Cove to Upper Middle Cove, from Port Aux Basques to St. Anthony and from GooseBay to Nain. As Jesus said ‘go’ (Matt 28:19-20) it is our conviction to be His witness (Acts 1:8), proclaim the Gospel (Luke 24:47), and see His Kingdom come. —Mile One Mission
We had the privilege to sponsor three young men;Adam Diamond, Matthew Lahey, and David Drover. As a part of their internship, Adam, Matthew and David were mentored by Mile One Mission’s Director Steve Bray. They were involved in weekly ministry at Calvary Baptist St. Johns, the hub church for all Mile One Mission activities. In addition to working at Mile One Mission, the interns will assist SCA with our social Media platform.
Mile One Mission had been actively doing research and relationship building in the Kilbride community, and hopes to start their first church meeting this December. This is their first church plant. Join with them and us in giving God praise for the progress made even during this year dealing with a pandemic. While complying with the restrictiones they were able to acomplish their goal.
